Birds

Object 'Birds' belongs to the 'Animals' theme.

Connection to Cats:

Cats often hunt birds (though some rare, huge birds might hunt cats instead). Usually a cat is much larger and more powerful and can easily kill a bird-- provided he can catch the bird first.

There are many differences between cats and birds. Birds fly, have feathers, and lay eggs. Cats don't fly, they have fur, and they don't lay eggs.

Connection to Dogs:

Physically, birds and dogs are drastically different. The average dog is much larger than the average bird. Dogs lack feathers, flight, wings, and external eggs, all of which birds possess. But the two species share one thing in common: they're both carnivorous.

Generally, dogs and birds don't interact very much. Most of the time, the bird is so small and hard for the dog to catch, it wouldn't be worth the energy the dog would need to hunt the bird.

Connection to Humans:

Humans and wild birds live together peacefully, largely ignoring each other. Some birds are domesticated by humans and kept as pets. Historically, birds were even occasionally used to perform useful tasks, such as delivering messages. Of all the animal kingdom, humans and certain birds are unique in possessing vocal cords necessary for speech.

While a human's life and a bird's life have basically nothing in common, perhaps the biggest difference is the fact that birds can fly.

Connection to Rabbits:

Very large birds will hunt and eat rabbits, usually swooping in from above. Medium-sized birds like ducks might pick fights with rabbits, but the rabbits will actually win these encounters. Smaller birds will generally ignore rabbits. The biggest difference between these two animals is that one can fly and one is earthbound.
