Yahoo

Yahoo is a rival search engine and one of Google's top enemies, although the two have dabbled with partnerships in the past. Google used its clout to thwart a partnership between Yahoo and Bing, and there's a possibility this could lead to anti-trust actions against Google.

Yahoo was actually competitive long before Google entered the scene, but Google's mathematically sophisticated search algorithms quickly gave Google the upper hand.

Besides algorithmic differences under the hood, a key difference between Google and Yahoo is that Google goes for simplicity, whereas Yahoo clutters its pages with tons and tons of advertisements and spam.

Yahoo and Facebook are very different websites. While Yahoo focuses on searching the web, Facebook focuses on being a social network.

As a nonprofit organization not at all interested in the search engine market, Wikipedia poses no threat to Yahoo; indeed the two sites enjoy a symbiotic relationship. Yahoo drives traffic to Wikipedia and provides it a valuable indexing service, while Wikipedia gives Yahoo a ton of very valuable content to enhance its search results.

Blogger and Yahoo share a mutually beneficial relationship. Blogger provides tons of high quality, fresh content for Yahoo's search engine result pages, and Yahoo steers new traffic toward the blogs. However this relationship is not as tight as the one between Google and Blogger: Yahoo does not have as direct of access to the blogger data as Google does, and Yahoo drives significantly less traffic than its giant competitor.
